Almost Home (Columbia space shuttle's crew members perish)

This is a digital article I wrote about the courageous crewmembers aboard the shuttle, Columbia, who were almost home when something went very wrong on Saturday morning, February 1, 2003.
One can only imagine their excitement at the near completion of a successful research flight that had begun on January 16th. But they never made it home, because of some fatal flaw with the craft, due to cutting corners, funding cutbacks that jeopardized and, ultimately, killed every crew member aboard.
