NIH Rare Disease Network
National Institutes of Health - August 04, 2003
I worked as the Clinical Trials Education and Referral Director for this foundation. In this role, I provided much needed in-depth information about the pros/cons of participating in clinical trials. I also coordinated with the clinical staff at the pharma companies sponsoring the trials.
Working with the executive director, I was also involved in work with the NIH, as they sponsored many of the foundation's efforts as well as the first website for various rare diseases, including aplastic anemia and MDS, which are rare blood diseases. I worked with various stakeholders to design, build, and write the copy for the first website.
My work also included interfacing with the FDA on numerous initiatives.
